JJ Ruane is named the House Women’s 2025 1st Team Technical Director/Head Coach

Tuesday, November 26, 2024 - Chicago House AC Women’s team announce today that JJ Ruane has been named the Technical Director and Head Coach for the 2025 WPSL season. Ruane comes to the House with an extensive resume working in the director role for different clubs in the Chicagoland area the past 20 years. Currently, JJ is the Girls Director, U13-U19 at Sockers FC Chicago. He oversees the day-to-day operations, Girls Academy program, and the overall development of the players in these ages. Over the past 20 years, JJ has had numerous successes with different programs including:

  • 2023 U19 Girls Academy National Champions

  • 2022 U19 Girls Academy National Finalist (Assistant Coach)

  • USYSA National League Appearances

  • USYSA National Championships 

  • USYSA Regional Championships

  • IYSA State Championships

  • Developed hundreds of players for the college game

 JJ holds a USSF "A" Youth license, a "Director of Coahing License" from United Soccer Coaches, and he recenty completed the USSF Club Technical Leadership 2 course over the last 6 months. He also holds a USSF National Youth License. "This is definitely a new challenge for me. I look forward to working with the Chicago House to bring a strong and competitive semi-pro women's team to the top of WPSL. It will be about building the right culture, establishing a professional environment, and playing in way that is enjoyable for the players and House fans. I look forward to getting started." 

House COO Brian Koenig, who led the search for the position, shared his enthusiasm for the hire - “JJ is a perfect hire for Chicago House AC Women’s team. Expanding on the great work from our inaugural season with Coach Henry, we are very excited to take the next step with JJ. He understands the culture we try to maintain and is eager to use his previous successes to be successful on and off the field with House,” Koenig said. 

JJ is married to Kristin Ruane going on 15 years. They have 3 children - GIanna, Ashlyn, and Bentley, 2 dogs- Finley and Frank, and 3 cats- Luna, Salem, and Coraline. He currently resides in Lombard. JJ enjoys spending time with his family when he is not on the soccer field.
