Working in the world of professional sports can be an exciting and rewarding journey. In 2021 Chicago House A.C. began our own journey with the mission of bringing soccer with a social conscience to Chicago.
House is looking for interns who want to gain valuable experience, working with professionals who have worked at the highest levels of professional soccer including - U.S. Soccer, MLS, USL Championship, USL1, NWSL and others. All internships are unpaid, but the club is willing to work with students to make certain that they can meet all the requirements of their school in order to receive credit if desired.
All internships will be remote, with the exception of game day responsibilities and player appearances or special team events. Interns are encouraged to attend and participate in weekly Zoom staff meetings and will be assigned to a staff member who will oversee their work, meet one-on-one as needed with the student and/or their university advisor and serve as a mentor throughout the internship. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all staff and will be included in all team activities.
Equipment Manager Intern:
Equipment Manager Intern Responsibilities:
Assist the coaching staff in maintaining equipment at training sessions and on game days
Men’s 1st team - February thru November
Women’s 1st team - May - July
Help with set-up and take down at training sessions
Do laundry after each training session and home match
Other duties may be assigned, as needed
Summary: The equipment manager will report to the head coach, with a goal of providing support to run efficient training sessions.
Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in a college or university undergraduate program, or a recent graduate/graduate student.
Strong knowledge of the rules and regulations of soccer and a passion for the game.
Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to drive yourself to and from trainings and games.
Timeframe and time commitment: We have two positions open - one for our men’s 1st team and the second for our women’s 1st team. Immediate start for our men’s team with a start date of May 2025 for our women’s team. There are no set hours, hours will be determined on a weekly basis to fill the needs of the team.

Operations Intern:
Operations Intern responsibilities assisting COO with:
Stadium Operations
Operational relationship with venue for games and training
All aspects of in-game experience including:
Promotions
Giveaways
Halftime entertainment
Pre-game and post-game activities
Audio and visual activities
Managing operational staffing needs and serving as liaison to all game day operational entities
Coordinating with COO on creation and maintenance of operational publications and policies such as inclement weather policies, emergency medical response plans, heat management plans, visiting team and official’s guide
Executing fulfillment of all sponsorship elements including stadium signage, advertising and promotions.
Additional responsibilities include assisting COO with creating, distributing, and managing credentials and parking passes for games and developing and managing game operations
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer work force responsible for assisting in game operations department
Other duties may be assigned, as needed
Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in a college or university undergraduate program, or a recent graduate/graduate student.
Experience in the sports industry preferred, preferably in operations and/or marketing.
Proficiency with event management is necessary.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20lbs, and be on your feet for several hours, reasonable accommodations will be made
This position requires a strong work ethic, problem solving skills, the ability to work well as a part of a team and a can-do attitude
Timeframe and time commitment: Men’s season is February - November. Women’s season is from May - July. There are no set hours, hours will be determined on a weekly basis to fill the needs of the various teams and events.

Marketing/Social Media Internship:
We are looking for sharp interns who can operate independently to assist in completing tasks remotely for all 6 of our platforms - men’s 1st team, women’s 1st team, men’s U23 team, women’s U23 team, youth academy, and futsal academy. These tasks may include but are not limited to creating graphics, managing social media accounts, writing website copy, and offering creative feedback on marketing materials. You will be collaborating with our Creative Director and our COO to carry out your tasks.
Internship Description:
· This is an EXPERIENCE-BUILDING-ONLY internship.
· The internship is fundamentally a social media, creative, and writing position, and a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience in marketing and media in the sports world.
Responsibilities:
· Creating graphics
· Manage and oversee social media content
· Draft website/social media copy and other written materials
· Help develop and implement social media strategies
· General administrative assistance
· Participate in virtual or phone meetings
· Perform research and creative ideation
· Provide constructive feedback
Qualifications:
· You are a creative person who can contribute great ideas and offer good feedback.
· You have a keen understanding of different social media platforms.
· You have strong writing skills that rarely need to be edited or supervised.
· You are a team player, take directions well, and do well with independent work.
· Have some experience with Canva or creating graphics (or are willing to learn).

Intern/Volunteer Description: Community Engagement
Reports to: CEO and Community Engagement Committee
Community Engagement Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about sports, and community impact? Chicago House Athletic Club is looking for a motivated community engagement intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with the CEO and Community Engagement Committee to learn the ins and outs of sports management focusing on community engagement. You’ll gain valuable skills, mentorship, and the chance to grow your career in sports while helping expand the reach of a mission-driven soccer club.
The position is responsible for working with the community engagement committee of the Chicago House AC Advisory Board to promote the club and build community connections. In addition, you will be expected to work 10 to 12 game days under the tutelage of experienced sports operations executives.
Expectations:
Intern/volunteer is expected to work most Chicago House AC home soccer matches. Up to 12 home games will be hosted at Elmhurst University’s Langhorst Field and are usually on weekend evenings or weeknights.
To follow scripts and instructions provided by management
Work with House Advisory Board Community Engagement Committee and House staff to schedule and execute player and staff appearances at community cents such as Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce meetings and events and youth soccer tournaments, camps and clinics and school appearances
Work with the House Advisory Board Community Engagement Committee and House staff to identify and promote activities, events and positions that align with Chicago House mission, vision and values.
Use the contact management system or Google spreadsheets to manage community engagement activities
Participate in weekly community engagement and staff meetings

Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about sports, and media relations? Chicago House Athletic Club is looking for a motivated media relations/content provider intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with the General Manager to learn the ins and outs of sports management focusing on media relations and content creation. You’ll gain valuable skills, mentorship, and the chance to grow your career in sports while helping expand the reach of a mission-driven soccer club.
The position is responsible for working with the general manager of the Chicago House AC to promote the club and build community awareness. In addition, you will be expected to work 10 to 12 game days under the tutelage of experienced sports operations executives.
Expectations:
Intern/volunteer is expected to work most Chicago House AC home soccer matches. Up to 12 home games will be hosted at Elmhurst University’s Langhorst Field and are usually on weekend evenings or weeknights.

Work with the General Manager and House staff to write news releases, men’s and women’s first team game previews, game recaps, youth player features and other content for club website, email blasts and weekly in season local newspapers.
Work with the General Manager to oversee the press box operations on game day including being the club contact for the stat crew, PA Announcer, music provider and live stream production team.
Work with GM to identify and promote House activities, events and positions that align with Chicago House mission, vision and values to targeted media outlets.
Participate in weekly marketing staff meetings

Marketing Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about sports, marketing, and community impact? Chicago House Athletic Club is looking for a motivated marketing and sponsor fulfillment intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with the CEO and Marketing Committee to learn the ins and outs of professional sports marketing, from advertising and promotion to sponsor activation and fulfillment. You’ll gain valuable skills, mentorship, and the chance to grow your career in sports while helping expand the reach of a mission-driven soccer club.
The position is responsible for working with the marketing committee and sales committee of the Chicago House AC Advisory Board to market the club and fulfill sponsorship agreements. In addition, you will be expected to work 10 to 12 game days under the tutelage of experienced sports marketing, sales and operations executives.
Expectations:
Intern/volunteer is expected to work most Chicago House AC home soccer matches. Up to 12 home games will be hosted at Elmhurst University’s Langhorst Field and are usually on weekend evenings or weeknights.
Work with sponsors and House staff and vendors to provide sponsors with tickets, acquire content for ads, PA Announcements, banners, social media graphics etc.
Use the contact management system or Google spreadsheets to manage sponsor fulfillment and promotional plans
Participate in weekly marketing, sales and staff meetings

Intern/Volunteer Description: Sales Account Intern
Reports to: CEO and Sales Committee
Sales Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about sports, sales, and community impact? Chicago House Athletic Club is looking for a motivated Ticket & Sponsorship Sales Intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with the CEO and Sales Committee to learn the ins and outs of professional sports sales, from corporate sponsorships to ticket packages. You’ll gain valuable skills, mentorship, and the chance to grow your career in sports while helping expand the reach of a mission-driven soccer club.
The position is responsible for selling Chicago House AC Sponsorships and Group and Flex Ticket Packages to individuals, companies and soccer clubs. In addition, you will be expected to seek referrals from your customers as you build a book of business and learn sports sales under the tutelage of experienced sports sales executives.
Expectations:
Intern/volunteer is expected to work most Chicago House AC home soccer matches. Up to 10 home games will be hosted at Elmhurst University’s Langhorst Field and are usually on weekend evenings or weeknights.

Make a minimum of 10 calls per day (5 less for each meeting you go on) and a minimum of two days per week.
Accurately record your call history in the ticket system
Use the contact management system to manage all leads
Seek referrals on every call

Compensation:
Earn 20% commission on net sponsorships and ticket sales
There may also be clients that are shared with other staff members. The expectation is that the commission for these accounts will be split equitably among the employees involved with the agreement.
Disputes: Any commission disputes will be decided by the CEO.
Payroll is paid monthly. A portion of your commission will be paid during the season and the remainder will be paid no later than 30 days following the season as long as all of the accounts are paid in full.
