SHANNON SEYMOUR NAMED TD/HC FOR CHAC MEN’S TEAM
Chicago, Illinois (August 18, 2024) – The Chicago House AC Men’s team announced today that Shannon Seymour has been named the Technical Director and Head Coach in advance of the team’s fall 2025 US Open Cup Qualifying
A veteran Chicago House AC midfielder and assistant captain, Seymour played for House from 2022 though this past season, served as the men's team assistant captain, and interim assistant and head coach after Matt Poland departed in mid-June. The former Northwestern University and US National Youth Team player also served as the head coach of the House women's U23 team in 2024 where he led the team to a first place finish in the U23 NISL/PSL division.
“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to help grow the House and know I have big shoes to fill after Matt Poland did such a great job of getting the club to where it is. I am ready for the challenge and after playing for House, I am confident in the ability of the players to keep a strong culture and continue on an upward trajectory to take the club to new heights,” Seymour said. “Peter and Brian and this ownership group are deeply committed to building a quality club both on and off the field and I look forward to building on our culture and style of play as a team. I am eager to begin work immediately ahead of our 2025 US Open Cup Qualifying run,” Seymour said.
House COO Brian Koenig, who led the search for the position, shared his enthusiasm for the hire. “We are very excited to have hired Shannon. He comes from the culture we are trying to maintain and build upon for our program along with his knowledge in the league from previous experience,” Koenig said.
Seymour, a Bourbonnais, IL native, grew up playing for the Chicago Fire Academy and was a member of the U.S. Youth National U-14 to U18 Teams. He attended Northwestern University where he was a part of the varsity soccer program from 2015-2019. After graduating from Northwestern, Seymour signed a professional contract with Lansing City Futsal Club and played for MWPL foe Steel City before joining House in 2022.
