Katie McCue Named Women’s 1st Team Assistant Coach

Monday, December 23, 2024 - Chicago House AC announced today Katie McCue has been named the Women’s Assistant Coach for 2025 for the House 1st team.

Katie McCue is the current head coach at Benedictine University. She has been the head coach since fall 2020. During a Covid spring season in 2021, she was named NACC South Division Coach of the Year and had five student-athletes receive all-conference awards. Since then, she has had an additional four student-athletes be named all-conference. Prior to Benedictine, she was the assistant coach at Loyola University from 2017-2020.

While at Loyola, she helped the team with back-to-back regular season and tournament championships. The highlight of her coaching career at Loyola was the team playing in the first round of the NCAA tournament and losing just 1-0 to the eventual National Champions Florida State.

Before Loyola University, she was the graduate assistant coach at Winona State University from 2015-2017. While at Winona State, she helped the team to their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2015. She also earned her master’s degree at Winona State in Education Leadership.

“This is an exciting time for House. I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of Chicago House. Looking forward to working with the 1st team alongside JJ (Ruane)” - said Katie in joining the coaching staff for House.

Katie attended and played at UW-Oshkosh from 2010-2014. As a goalkeeper for the Titans, her senior season was highlighted by a 1.12 goals against average and held a 0.817 save percentage en route to finishing the year with seven total shutouts. Katie graduated from UW-Oshkosh with an undergraduate degree in Physical Education.

Katie resides in Bartlett, IL with her husband Patrick and daughter Maddie.
