Seymour Extends for 2025

Chicago, Illinois (January 15, 2025) – The Chicago House AC Men’s team announced today that Technical Director and Head Coach Shannon Seymour has renewed his agreement to stay on with Chicago House through 2025.

Before taking on the House leadership role, the former Chicago House AC midfielder and assistant captain played for House from 2022 through the 2024 Midwest Premier League season.  Seymour also served as the men's team assistant captain, interim assistant, and head coach after Matt Poland departed in mid-June. The former Northwestern University and US National Youth Team player also served as the head coach of the House women's U23 team in 2024 where he led the team to a first-place finish in the U23 NISL/PSL division.

“I am extremely excited to continue the work from last year. I am ready for the challenge and after coaching House last fall through Open Cup qualifying, I am confident in my ability to work with current and new players to keep a strong culture, continue on an upward trajectory to take the club to new heights,” Seymour said. “Peter and Brian and this ownership group are deeply committed to building a quality club both on and off the field and I look forward to building on our culture and style of play as a team. I am eager to get back to work immediately ahead of our 2025 Amateur Cup efforts,” Seymour said.

House COO Brian Koenig handled the retention of Seymour. “We are very excited to have kept Shannon on board. He did a very good job transitioning from Matt Poland’s leadership by maintaining the quality of training sessions and continuing to bring in talented players to represent House,” Koenig said.

Seymour, a Bourbonnais, IL native, grew up playing for the Chicago Fire Academy and was a member of the U.S. Youth National U-14 to U18 Teams. He attended Northwestern University where he was a part of the varsity soccer program from 2015-2019. After graduating from Northwestern, Seymour signed a professional contract with Lansing City Futsal Club and played for MWPL foe Steel City before joining House in 2022.
